WASHINGTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT (PHOENIX AZ – Sept. 13, 2017)
“It’s better to try and fail than to never try at all.” Dave Stevens, an inspiring athlete and father, spoke to Chaparral Elementary School students today about dreaming big, setting goals, and accepting and loving our differences. Although Dave was born without legs, he was a star athlete playing football, baseball, wrestling, and now hockey. Dave was also a broadcaster on ESPN for many years. He now works with disabled children through the Dave Clark Foundation and plays with the Wounded Warrior Amputee football team. Dave is also a product of the #WESD! He attended Desert Foothills Junior High, Sunnyslope School, and Mountain View School. Thank you, Mr. Stevens, for returning to the #WESD and sharing your truly inspiring story. #WESDFamily.
